UK manufacturer and distributor of portable exhibition stands, Ultima Displays have now opened their own printing department and are offering printing of banner stands and pop up stands to the trade.
Ultima Displays offer printing of graphics for roller banners and pop up displays as well as direct to board UV printing onto foamex and other rigid substrates such as foamex PVC.
Information from Ultima indicates that the service is to be directed solely at exhibition and events companies and will not be openly available to end-users.
Traditionally, Ultima have built their business around selling unprinted exhibition hardware to it’s dealers and some popular products include the Evolution Quick Fix and Express pop up stands and well known roller banner stands such as the Barracuda and Grasshopper stands.
As a trade supplier of portable displays with the primary market being graphics houses and large format printing companies, the decision to invest in it’s own in-house printing equipment is set to worry some existing distributors whose business models revolve around buying-in kit and supplying it printed to the customer.
We feel that the decision to invest in printing equipment is in response to increasing competition in the exhibition display industry which has ultimately lead to many traditional suppliers expanding into other markets.
